I’m Amanda, the creator of Jupiter Production House. Here we are, at the closing of 2017 and it has been a whirlwind year for Jupiter Production House. In finishing out our third year of business and reflecting on our accomplishments, I’m also focused on the future.
This isn’t about what Jupiter has achieved in 2017 or even what I’ve learned, this is about why I’m hitting pause and pivoting.
The concept of Jupiter Production House came to me while sitting on a staircase overlooking Avalon, Catalina Island, California. A dear friend invited me to tag along for the 2014 Catalina Film Festival; I couldn’t say no to the chance to visit an island I’d only seen on the silver screen. It was a magical four-day affair and Jupiter was born.
Less than four months later, at Sundance Film Festival, Jupiter Production House had her big debut. Over the next three years I poured my heart, soul, passion, and expertise into Jupiter, molding it and growing it. Jupiter told stories, became a resource, and supported creatives. But, that wasn’t enough for me.
I desired to know more about my clients, the nonprofits of San Diego. In August of 2017, I began my journey as a Master’s candidate at University of San Diego in Nonprofit Leadership and Management. I knew that pursuing a master’s would require me to rethink how I approached my business and what I desired from my career long term. I transitioned from entrepreneur to employee after I was offered a digital marketing role with San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, a nonprofit membership association under the leadership of former San Diego Police Chief and Mayor, Jerry Sanders.
Wait…what does this mean for Jupiter Production House? Is there a future of Jupiter?
I’m on pause. I’m responding to email inquires, so feel free to drop me a Q or reach out about working together. I’m still taking clients but being more reactive instead of proactive.
If you’re looking for video professionals in San Diego, we’ll be publishing a list of our favorites. Or reach out for recommendations. I’m also available to talk to your group or event about live video, social media, entrepreneurship, and more. Reach out to book me for speaking in 2018!
I’ll be releasing a quarterly content-thing in 2018, so look forward to that. In the meantime, Happy Holidays, hug a loved one, smile at a stranger, and embrace empathy.
Here’s the adventures and growth ahead.
